The rupture of the disc leads to the emergence of protrusions from the disc, which in turn presses the nerves adjacent to the vertebrae of the spine, which leads to a feeling of pain, numbness, and weakness in different areas of the back and legs, and when hernia occurs in the vertebrae, the patient feels tingling and numbness in the arms and shoulders.

Sciatica is another condition of the disc, in which the patient begins to feel pain, numbness, and discomfort in the legs due to the exposure of the femoral nerve to pressure from the protrusion emerging from the lumbar disc in the back.

Not all back pain is necessarily caused by a disc injury, but there are many reasons that lead to feeling back pain, such as muscle tension, arthritis, and osteoporosis.

  • Suddenly carrying heavy weights, depending on your back muscles.
  • Sitting for long periods of time in an incorrect position, such as people who practice long-term office work or drivers.
  • Obesity and excess weight that pressure the vertebrae continuously, which results in a rupture of the disc.
  • Congenital defects such as spinal stenosis.
  • Exposure to a vertebral injury such as a fall or during exercise.

Symptoms Of Disc Herniation:

• Severe back pain and an inability to fully erect the back.

Feeling of numbness and numbness in the legs or hands.

• Muscle tension and tension in the muscles of the back and legs.

• Not being able to stand for long periods or to sit in certain positions.

How to diagnose Disc Herniation?
